Department of Data Processing

The Department of Data Processing develops students' information application, business, data handling, programming, multimedia, and web-related abilities while supporting further study and career pathways in technology and business fields.

History

  • The department was established in ROC 86 (1997), when the school was Provincial Puli Senior High School.
  • In ROC 90 (2001), after the school became The Affiliated Senior High School of National Chi-Nan University, the school system shifted to comprehensive senior high school programs. The department transformed into information application, multimedia production, and e-commerce programs.
  • To provide students with a more complete learning curriculum and structure, the department resumed enrollment in academic year 98 (2009) after ministry approval, admitting two classes per grade level.
  • From academic year 108 (2019), the program became one Data Processing class and one E-commerce class.

Learning Content

  • General courses: Chinese, English, mathematics, and other common subjects.
  • Business courses: Introduction to business, accounting, economics, and related business subjects.
  • Information courses: Digital technology, word processing, programming, web design, multimedia production and application, database applications, and related courses.

Graduates may work in public or private financial service institutions, companies, computer software design, computer engineering, cashiering, accounting, sales, business operations, application software, personal studios, computer typing, layout production, and related fields.

Further Study

Students may apply to technology universities or four-year technical college programs related to the business and management cluster, including information management, computer science and information engineering, digital media design, applied game design, creative product design, marketing and distribution management, accounting information systems, international trade, finance, and related fields. Military and police academies are also listed as possible routes.
